Just when you thought PS3 advertisements couldn't get weirder ...

Gothic Girl | September 23, 2008 | Pictures | Playstation 3
Sony has had some pretty strange advertisements in the past. There was the creepy "This is Living" commercial to name one of them, and it sure made no sense to many a viewer.

But if you thought Playstation 3 ads couldn't get any more weird or obscure, here is Spain's recent "Matrjoska" print ad. It makes little sense and seems to have no relevance to the PS3 console at all.

Discuss in the Playstation 3 forum
With the exception of Sony's "U R Not E" campaign and the inflicting of Saliva's godawful "Ladies and Gentlemen" upon us a countless number of times this year, we're generally fans of the PlayStation marketing machine. We even kind of liked the "This Is Living" series of non sequitors that annoyed UK gamers in 2007. That said, we're having a hard time wrapping our string of brain cells around the "Matrjoska" print ad running in Spain.

Oh I get it, its a comment that deep within your bleak desolate soul your inner child is craving to be filled by the PS3. All you have to do it let it out.

    It's all so obvious now

Nah, it is a reference to how, beneath it's somewhat bulky exterior is a big powerhouse, and the essence of it all, is just sexy hardware, in a world where nothing else exists (is it's match). Maybe just 'layers' of features or something....

But yeah, weird Ad. Hope we get some sort of explaination for this one >_>

The problem is, I don't think people are clever enough to get it. The one good thing about it, is that is is very good attention grabber.

Wow . . . Um, well yeah that is definitely a bit creepy due to the "flesh" look of the ones laying on the ground!

    I'd say . . . hey TT, I think you nailed it

Or maybe all of us old dudes sitting around chugging beer and scratching ourselves are really filled with hot chicks deep inside.

Hmmmmmm that sounds wrong in so many ways.....I think I will go back to my beer now, thanks. LOL

I think Tallteen and Silver Mirror is both right. I think it both means the same. Its not that bad, maybe slightly unorthodox but still cool.

I've seen weirder Euro PS3 ads. Or extremely artsy, depending on your perspective. I don't think I should post it here because of GG's user base (hell, the Neo staff freaked out when I showed it to some of them), but it was essentially a nude man, except his penis was replaced by a thumb/finger.

Oh yeah, I've seen that. Really not that bad, but could be seen as offensive.

Really? I thought my mom was gonna pass out with laughter LMFAO
