Realistic Steel Energy Sword Replica

Deathsythe | September 25, 2008 | Pictures | XBOX 360 Misc
Some dedicated fans, who also happen to be very good with metal forging, have created a 19-inch stainless steel replica of the Covenant Energy Sword, complete with spectrum treatment which will give the sword that extra realistic colour changing effect that we have all grown to know and love.
have seen toy versions of the Covenant Energy Sword from Halo 3 in the past, but sissy plastic toys are for little girls and people who can make a clear distinction between right and wrong. A replica with two spectrum treated 19-inch stainless steel blades are for real men. The kind of men that don’t think before they act and send in homemade videos to the guys from Jackass.

If you are wondering, the spectrum treatment gives the metal color-changing properties that mimic the effect seen on the blade in the game. Also comes with wall plaque. Additional image after the break.

The amount of work some people put into these kinds of things is amazing. This is something that's totally kick ass in my opinion.

As an actual weapon though - it is highly impractical.

While it has a decent "cross-guard" (if you can really call it that), the balance ratio is terrible, and highly unwieldy.

Stainless steel is far too heavy, if they made it out of a carbon-fiber or something then maybe..

There is no counter balance- you would need the forearms of an olympian to wield such a weapon- and it would still be highly unstable and rotate along the "hilt" (again - if you could call it that)

Either way though - quite an impressive creation by a dedicated player. I would buy one for my collection.

True, you make a good point. For some reason I immediately thought this weapon looked like a KH2 weapons from the Organization.

That is beyond kick-ass. I would love one of those.
