Ace Combat 6 Coming To PS3 In 2008?

It has always been theorised that Ace Combat 6 which was previously a Playstation Exclusive series that went to Microsoft and specifically to the XBOX360, would one day return on the PS3, however with the game being out for quite some time, and no news of it since, most had lost hope.

However it seems as though PSM3 have got some sort of inside information, and have in their latest issue, stated AC6 to be one of the games to be released in 2008 for the PS3. However with no official word from Namco, this is far from official, however likewise, we've heard plenty of rumours about this before, so it could be the fruitition of those rumours coming to light, and AC6 finally coming onto the PS3.

I hope so. Why Ace Combat 6 suddenly went 360 exclusive is beyond me for a series that has been on PlayStation it's entire lifespan.

This wasn't some huge exclusive to loose, in fact I would have been fine had it just been multi platform from the start.

  I believe Microsoft tried to buy them out, but all they could do was make it a delayed-exclusive (i.e. it would come to the PS eventually).

    Ah, well now that makes sense. An odd title to gun for exclusivity. I don't think Ace Combat sold all that well on the 360.

      May be why it's most certainly coming on the PS3, it has most fans on the PS3 and I'm fairly sure that the other versions did sell well... they could easily recuperate their losses by selling it on the PS3 as well... I think.

I don't think it will make a difference Krunal, im sure most have forgotten about AC6. And considering how the sales wasn't anything but horrific i don't see this making any sales to re-coup what they lost. Namco made a gamble and lost imo, i think what they should do and don't release it to the PS3 and focus on AC7 make it exclusive.

  The Ace Combat series has always been that series that sells pretty well but no one really raves about them. They get somewhat decent scores pretty consistently but are never heralded as like the greatest of games. The thing is, they're definitely the best in their genre on the consoles.

    Again i doubt its going to happen, its a rumor from other New sites i go to, this isn't confirmed. And i doubt its going to get major sales to re-coup what they lost. I bet you not alot of people care about this since the sales were horrific i don't think its going to sell not much. Yes your right about decent scores and such but this game wasn't even great on the 360 why bother making a PS3 version now. I think they need to learn from their mistakes and focus on the next Ace combat.

Being a member of ACS.com, likely the largest Ace Combat fansite ever, I can say that AC6 didn't catch on like the others did. You just don't hear them talking about it.

I mean, if AC6 came PS3's way, I'd buy it without hesitation. But AC6 was nothing huge.

  The time they have had to work on it, don't you think they would have spruced it up for the PS3 version (if it is indeed in the works)? I'd expect to get a version of the game that's better than the XBOX360, and really calls on the AC fans that have a PS3 or haven't gotten a next gen system to come get the game they want on the console they're more likely to buy.
  
  I personally don't expect AC7 to come on the XBOX360, but surely will on the PS3, so most AC fans will be bound to buy a PS3... right?

    Yeah I agree Krunal. I think AC6 will come to the PS3 in either an updated version or possibly a budget version, maybe 40 bucks and then AC7 will be PS3 exclusive seeing as how much the game failed on the 360.
