HipHopGamer: GTA V PS3 exclusive, Mass Effect 2 multiplatform,

HipHopGamer has released a new episode of his popular gaming show and is possibly the most news filled yet. GTA V PS3 exclusive? Mass Effect 2 multiplatform? Level 5 to be bought by Sony? Crysis to appear on PS3? Halo 4 to come to the Xbox 720? And to to have forward compatibility? Rockband 2 Wii looking awesome? Those are just some of the content present in the show. He's a a bit biased about the PS3, but he same interesting content if nothing else.

      Not really, I mean by the time GTA5 comes out it would be around 3 years from now and the PS3 could be rocking in sales. Also Timed exclusive would most likely be the case I mean SA was timed exclusive as well.

      Anyway LOL at his dissing Soulja Boy. Haha love this stuff.

        GTA5 won't be out in the next few years.

        I'll bet that when GTA5 comes out, the PS4 and the next Xbox will be released.

        They're almost definitely going to make games with the same engine, but aren't proper sequels.

        Like, GTA3 and GTA 4 had 2 (major) GTA games between them, and I'm sure it'll be the same for the time between GTAIV and GTAV.

        So, actually, I'd say GTA5 definitely won't be a PS3 exclusive, because the PS4 will probably be out, then.

          Apparently you forget that GTA5 isn't going to be a different game, its just going to add what they already had. As Koloth stated below:

          Apparently you forget that every numbered GTA Sequel is in reference to a new game engine, Sure there will be another GTA this generation but it almost certainly won't be called GTA5, It will have a sub title in the style of past games

          Unless the Sequel has a new game engine, And i highly doubt it.. GTA5 will be a next generation game

          I didn't forget about that actually, its just R* had always planned on going for the realism bit from the get go, but couldn't due to the limitations of the PS2 graphical and hardware system. IIRC R* stated that they're working on GTA5 right now, and keeping the same engine. I don't think from what I know from being in the GTA forums that R* is going to wait til next gen to release GTA5. In fact its probably more realistic this generation to release a bigger better game for GTA5 being on the PS3 exclusive.

        He has a 50/50 shot. Flip a coin.......it's going to be heads. Was I right? Anyone can start a rumor and have the possibility of it coming true.....doesn't mean we have to humor every rumor that comes our way.

        Besides GTA did very well on the 360....I doubt they would turn their back on that green.

          The only thing I think the rumor has on its side really is that Rockstar was complaining about the limitations of DVD9. Now given that I see three possibilities.

          One a timed exclusive developed on the PS3 first with a multi disk release later on the 360. Which I would think the most likely.

          Two a complete exclusive to the PS3, which I think the least likely.

          Three a simultanious release with the 360 version on multiple disks. Which I think possible just not the one I would put my money on at this point.

          Why? There were 3 last gen. I'm sure there will be at least one more this gen. Probably just be something like Vice City or San Andreas though. Not a engine upgrade but adding to what they already have.

        R* currently need the money (not yet to the point of utter desperation, but far enough, especially with GTA IV being a partial let-down), Microsoft has the money and isn't afraid to use it. I'm being totally serious, if GTA V is a PS3 exclusive, my arse will sprout wings and fly me to the moon

          Yea, somehow I doubt that, with GTA4 having set two world records in the first 24 hours. And selling over 10 million units as of August 16th. "Partial let-down" doesn't even make sense from a sales perspective.

          Gamer perspective is different, but to be frank the sales department doesn't really care what you do with the game once it has been sold. They already have their money and they aren't giving it back.

          As for Microsoft throwing money around, well that's a given. And probably the only reason I will give you that the rumor is likely false. But I would still lean more toward timed exclusive.

          Yes cause apparently gaining 600 Million sales from GTA4 in one week, iirc, doubling and beating Halo 3 opening sales numbers is clearly means R* is in need of money.

          Okay, Koloth, that's true. I was still thinking of before IV, when EA was trying to buy them out and whatnot, for some reason I overlooked the great amount of sales it had. My mistake, I was probably too concerned with trying to be funny .

          But, saying that, even if they no longer need the money the company's primary goal is to make the most amount of money they can. Microsoft can give it to them and Sony can't, not for the foreseeable future anyway. I'm not ignorant enough to say a timed exclusive isn't possible (even if I still think it's unlikely) but as long as Microsoft is so far ahead of Sony in a financial sense then R* won't leave them for good.

          I agree with the partial let-down for the gamers......sales wise this thing was a monster. But hopefully the flaws of the game will be overlooked when they release the next installment if they wish to see sales like that again.

          Personally I want to see a SA like title with the same engine on this generation's platforms.

          Actually Tiger I gave a better answer with numbers on how R* isn't in need of money. What you're stating is T2 and their going independant. The fact is, R* gained the majority of the money gained from the 600 million GTA4 got, which is probably 500 million and 100 to Take Two.

          Im not jumping on the glory train, just stating facts. Rockstar went multiplatform in the first place cause Sony didn't pay them to stay and allowed them to go, besides the fact the PS3 install base was weak. When GTA5 comes around(2-3 years) the PS3 will have way more fanbase to generate sales for the next game.

          Sorry GTA5 being exclusive or timed isn't farfetched and can actually happen.

          @kik36 - Rockstar went to the direction they always wanted, which was realism in games. They got it with GTA4 and it was a brilliant game in its own rights as well as it succeeding for them. GTA has no intentions of going back to their old style of gaming. SR and Volitions are going to fill that void of unrealistic gaming that R* left behind, allowing for two Sandbox genre games and companies to compete against each other.

    Mass Effect 2 multiplatform seems unlikely because I always assumed Microsoft bought the rights to the franchise. Maybe it was just the first title.

    GTAV for PS3 exclusively would be the only rumour I agree with.

      I thought the same thing about Mass Effect. There's no telling if EA would bring ME2 to the PS3. Why put the sequel on there without the first ME?

    Only way it happens.. Sony pulls a Msoft and offers alot more then 50 mill for exclusive rights not just dlc. Or Sony is in closed door talks to buy take two. which was a romour around 2 years ago.

      No no no no, you have to make them some what believable. Like you could say Bungie's next big project to be multiplatform. People might believe that. But everyone knows Microsoft owns the Halo IP, but they don't own Bungie. And that's where you get the believability factor. If of course you ignore the tiny problem of Microsoft still being Bungie's publisher. But I'm sure we can find a way around that.

          *sigh* Kojima is not the final say in MGS. He's the creative director. He decides everything about making the game.

          Konami could release it for whatever they want. They are the parent to Kojima productions. Kojima saying no just means that Kojima productions wouldn't be porting it...not that they would be the ones anyway.

          But regardless the rumor is still unlikely. And would you really want the left overs of a team that is porting it just for profit anyway? Isn't that why Twin Snakes and Substance were subpar on the Gamecube and Xbox?

          They also aloud it for battlefield BC and Front lines fuel for war I believe.

          Konami was the publisher; Kojima Productions developed MGS4. For Konami to port it, they'd need someone to do it, and anyone outside KojiPro would make a sh*t-ass port. So in asking KojiPro, they'd get a resounding NO, because Kojima is head of Kojima Productions, and he said No already.

          As for the Twin Snakes and Substance; while they may have been in some ways a tad better, the Playstation fanbase was inescapably much larger. The Metal Gear Solid fanbase is with Playstation, no matter which platform is leading in sales. So now that games cost so much more to make, especially with MGS4 and on, Kojima would rather stick to one platform. And PS3 is where he wants it. End of Story. Get over it.
