Japanese first official Armored Core trailer

Bale Fire | January 11, 2008 | Podcast | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Armored Core 4 released last year was to many a disappointment. The missions were short, the customisation was simplified and the online was unimpressive. But From Software may be back on track with the latest installment. I present to you, fresh from Japan, the first official trailer

Doesn't look that bad...nice enough graphics (pretty good, especially in the part where it is rendered, at least supposed to be rendered, who knows if it will look that good in the final version)....

If it gets good reviews (like, users around Neo like it a lot, and doesn't get crappy pro review scores) I MIGHT just pick it up, eventually...

A .net address though? How often do you see that for a commercial title? Perhaps it is used because the .com address is already taken up eh?

Oh yeah, anybody else get that audible clicking/ticking sound in the background? I think I've heard it with other Gametrailers streamed content....

I never got Armored Core 4 but the pre-rendered scenes were always of amazing quality, even back on the early PS2 titles the pre-rendered scenes were up there with Final Fantasy, although I suppose it's easier making robots than organic beings. Meh.

If I get this I'll have to get AC4 first. Looks good though, I got so bored with the PS2 versions. The same thing game after game after game.

What kind of a name is that though? For Answer? Bad translation? Better not be in the NTSC and PAL versions.

I've always been a big fan of Armored Core. And as a fan of the series, I'll tell you that it is unlikely that this AC will be any different from the rest. Prettier, maybe; but nothing spectacular.

Though if the latest installment does do something great, then I will be ecstatic.

AC4 was a pretty big step up, at least in terms of speed(much faster than the other titles).

The name translation isn't a mistake, it is "For Answer," most probably answering the questions left from AC4(whatever they are).

Actually, it looks pretty good in my opinion.

It looks almost completely identical to Armored Core 4. Doesn't seem to be any graphical improvements, and it looks like we're going to a lot of the same places.

AC4 on its own wasn't anything special, this doesn't look any better. Everything looks the same, except for those huge gunships we'll be fighting...

None of it should really surprise you, it's just an expansion of sorts like most Armored Core games have gotten in the past.

Few differences though, online co-op, some ACs can fully transform, and then giant boosters.

I really dislike it when developer make a game with the intention of making it more of an expansion. We don't want to pay an extra $60 for something that should have been included in the first game right away.

So...this would go for pretty much every sports game franchise, yes?

Some do offer DLable roster updates though...

I have Armored Core 1-3, but since 4 was a let-down, I decided against buying it. The game modes sound pretty good, hope this saves the series, it started off quite well, imo.
