Getting More Participation Points on GameGrep

Although the the title of this page is the exciting concept of how you can get more points, the basis behind getting more participation points is participating in a responsible and active fashion. The more you participate the more you will earn points, but the QUALITY of your participation will also affect your points and ranking. The reason for this is because higher quality submissions, whether news submissions or news comments, will earn you MORE points!

Participation Points

Here is a list of what you can earn points for on GameGrep and how many you get:

• Submitting an article - 2 points.
• Getting an article approved - 1 point.
• Adding images - 1 point per image.
• Attaching a relevant Neoseeker profile - 1 point.
• Posting a comment - First comment above 150 characters on an article is worth 2 points. Comments after that on the same article over 72 characters are worth 1 point.
• 30 rates - 5 points.
• 75 rates - 10 points.
• 150 rates - 15 points.
• 300 rates - 20 points.
• 500 rates - 25 points.
• 1000 rates - 30 points.
• 1500 rates - 35 points
• 2000 rates - 40 points
• 3000 rates - 50 points
• Adding an alternate source - 1 point.

Unfortunately you can also lose points for some things as well, but if you are careful in what you do then you won't have to worry about it.

• Comment deleted - lose 4 points.
• Alternate source deleted - lose 2 points.
• Image deleted - lose 1 point per image.

Submit Exciting articles and Promote your News

A hot news article with tons of activity can earn the original author upwards of 80 points in total, if it somehow reaches 3000 rates then that will net you a whopping 230 points overall for that article. There's nothing special there, if you post interesting news that has lots of activity you get the maximum amount of points. If you post in a blog or in sites outside of GameGrep and Neoseeker, and they allow you to post interesting news links, then doing so will increase exposure to your article hugely and also increase your news activity rating dramatically. However, whatever you do, DO NOT SPAM any other sites. You must abide by their posting guidelines and ONLY post following those guidelines. Users who spam other sites against the Terms of Service on those sites risk having their accounts terminated on GameGrep. We don't like it when others spam us and we certainly don't want to go out and spam them.

As you can see, there's a long way for everyone to go! There are more ranks, but until people get nearer the top of this list of 40, they'll stay hidden.

What's the bottom line in all of this? If you participate naturally and with quality posts, no matter how aggressive you are, you will earn points! And points mean a chance of winning the monthly prize draws, who knows if they'll have other uses in the future too?
