With last week's update, North America got two WiiWare games and one Virtual Console game. This week, the roles are reversed, with the added bonus of the two Virtual Console games being a pair of imports.
The WiiWare game is the long-awaited My Pokémon Ranch, developed by Nintendo. The game will allow a player to transfer Pokémon from his/her copy of Pokémon Diamond or Pearl, and then play and interact with them on-screen. The ranch will level up with the more Pokémon the player brings to the ranch. Trades can be done with the in-game assistant, and the player can fulfill 'wanted' requests to earn rewards for the ranch. The ranch will support up to 1000 of your favorite Pokémon, and will support up to eight Pokémon Diamond or Pearl game cards.
The first Virtual Console game this week is the NES version of the classic arcade game, Dig Dug. Oddly enough, this version of Dig Dug never made it stateside, putting this as an import release. The goal is to destroy the monsters lurking in the underground, controlling the great Taizo Hori as he digs his way through, and tries to defeat them by inflating the monsters until they burst, or alternatively, crush them with falling rocks. Dig Dug remains as one of the most classic games in history, with its roots as an arcade coin-op.
The second game is less familiar, titled Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, for the NES. This Konami-developed platformer stars the baby prince Upa, that utilizes a magic rattle to defeat his enemies. When hit by the rattle, enemies will inflate, and then can be used as platforms or be pushed into other enemies to destroy them. The pirated version of this game was sold unofficially as "Mario Baby".
