It's E3 week, and Nintendo of America provides us with three new offerings for the Wii Shop Channel; one for WiiWare, and two for the Virtual Console. Although not AAA gems by any stretch of the imagination, there are some good games that could be worth giving a shot.
The WiiWare title this week is Mastiff Games' Major League Eating: The Game. Featuring the world's top competitive eaters, this game will not disappoint such fans of annual hot dog eating contest and other eating competitions. Players can hop onto the Nintendo WiFi Connection and battle each other online in the most extravagant eating competition ever.
The first of the two Virtual Console games is Donkey Kong 3 for the NES. Its gameplay was remarkably different from previous Donkey Kong games, which played more like a fixed shooter than a platformer.
The second game is the Alpha Denshi-developed Ninja Commando for the Neo Geo. It is a vertically-scrolling shooter, where up to two players each take control of 1 of 3 ninjas and shoot and blast their way through multiple levels. Unique to this game are the fighting game inputs needed to execute certain special attacks.
