In a press release sent out today by Sega, the game publisher has confirmed what was the purported
cover story for the September 2008 issue of Nintendo Power. Sonic and the Black Knight, the newest adventure for the blue hedgehog, will be Wii-exclusive, with a release sometime in the Spring of 2009.
Sonic and the Black Knight will be the second game in the "storybook series", with the first game being
Sonic and the Secret Rings, which brought the blue blur into the world of Arabian Nights. Sonic and the Black Knight will bring Sonic into presumably King Arthur's tale, questing to become the ultimate knight and save the medieval world. The game will be developed by
Sonic Team Japan. The profile for the game on Sega's website can be found
