Collaboration of the Forever: Suda 51, Shinji Mikami, Q Entertainment, and... EA?!

At its summer showcase, publisher Electronic Arts has announced through its EA Partners arm that it has agreed to a publishing deal that will involve iconic Japanese developers Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) and Goichi Suda (Killer7, No More Heroes) in a brand-new horror action game that will hit the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.

Shinji Mikami will be the producer for the new game, with Suda 51 directing. Suda's development studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, will be the primary developer. It is also noted that Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment (Lumines, Meteos) will also be working with Grasshopper on this project.

No release date has been announced.
Electronic Arts Inc. today announced a publishing agreement with iconic Japanese development studio Grasshopper Manufacture. Under the terms of the deal, EA Partners will publish an all-new action horror game produced by Shinji Mikami and directed by innovative game designer Suda51.

The title is being developed for the PC, Xbox 360(R) video game system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system and Wii(TM).

"Grasshopper Manufacture is excited to work with EA Partners to bring our new title to gamers around the world," said Goichi Suda, CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture. "They are a great partner who shares our commitment to quality and innovation while respecting our independence as a studio, which is very empowering."

The deal was brokered by CAA, in conjunction with Q Entertainment who will be working with Grasshopper Manufacture and EAP on the project.

    The scariest part is that this is going to be a Suda game WITH a budget.

    Can't imagine the amount of crazy awesome this is going to be.

    And that's not even mentioning that Shinji Mikami is publishing!

    This is a good day for everybody. Console allegiances be damned.
