NA Wii Shop Channel Update: 08/18/08: Super Fighting Robot, Mega Man

Akira_EX | August 18, 2008 | Press Release | Wii
After feeling cool and attractive last week, Nintendo serves us up a more retro feel today, featuring the debut game of Capcom's Blue Bomber. One WiiWare game and two Virtual Console games hit the links, looking for that perfect shot.

The WiiWare title this week is Midnight Pool, brought to you by Gameloft Entertainment. Aim for the top in a nationwide pool tournament that will literally have you traveling nationwide in your quest for pool fame and fortunes. There's a place for you trick-shot enthusiasts too.

The first Virtual Console title this week is the original Mega Man, for the NES. While it is the first game, the series never hit the elite status until its sequel hit. However, the first still holds a place in many's hearts, as you can relive Capcom's Blue Bomber springing into action for the first time once more, fighting the six Robot Masters on his way to Dr. Wily.

The other Virtual Console game this week is the acclaimed golf game Neo Turf Masters for SNK's Neo Geo. With three different locations, you can engage in both Stroke Play or Match Play against a human or computer opponent.

Recap:
WiiWare:
  • Midnight Pool, Gameloft Entertainment, 1-2 Players, 800 Points
    Virtual Console:
  • NES: Mega Man, 1 Player, 500 Points
  • NEOGEO: Neo Turf Masters, 1-2 Players, 900 Points

As always, games go live at Noon EST, 9AM PST. Keep track of the latest VC releases with the 2008 edition of What's New on VC? in the Wii Virtual Console forum.
