In a surprise press release today, sales trackers NPD Group, Enterbrain and GfK Chart-Track Limited have announced that they will be collaborating on an all new Top Global Markets Report for video game sales, which will combine the trackers' US, Japan, and UK data, respectively, in a sales ranking chart to track the global sales of video games. They are currently working on incorporating the other countries they cover, namely Canada (NPD) and the rest of Europe (GfK). This is the one of the first times that we will see hard sales data inside of Europe.

With this press release, we also have a preliminary all-formats chart, with the top five games year-to-date combined from the three regions.
