Mirror's Edge gets release date, pre-order bonus and demo

Cruxis Mana | September 18, 2008 | Press Release | PC Playstation 3
Coming from developer DICE, Mirror's Edge will hit North American stores on November the 11th and European stores on November the 14th for both PS3 and XBOX360. A demo has also been detailed, which will be hitting Xbox Live and PSN ahead of the November release. Fans who pre-order the game will also receive access to an exclusive Time Trial mode of the demo too.
Take a leap of ‘Faith’ this November! DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio (NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced that the highly acclaimed first-person action adventure title, Mirror’s Edge™ will ship on November 11th for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system. The PC version of Mirror’s Edge will ship later in the winter. Prior to launch, players worldwide will get an early peek at the game when the demo* becomes available via Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace and PLAYSTATION® Store. The demo will feature the prologue of the game including the tutorial and a segment of the single-player story mode. Starting September 26th, players who pre-order Mirror’s Edge at selected retailers will get an exclusive code that unlocks the Time Trial mode in the demo.

Time Trial mode challenges players to find the fastest route across the rooftops and through the streets. Players can upload their best time to the Mirror’s Edge leaderboards for their friends to download and compete against. Players can see their friend’s ‘ghost’ run as they race their way through the course to the top of the leaderboards.

“Mirror’s Edge is bringing something new to the action-adventure genre this holiday by putting the player in the shoes of the hero, seeing what she sees, feeling what she feels,” says Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “We wanted to create an entirely new experience, with a different type of heroine and a world that not only looks fresh and new but has unique gameplay.”

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will launch on 14th November. If you can't wait that long, a demo will be on Xbox Live and PSN next Friday 26th September.
Should be interesting. I just hope it plays as good as it looks considering it's got EA behind it...

EA, are usually good game makers, lets just hope EA doesn't go DOWN hill like Fifa Street did.

^ I know. I was thinking we wouldn't see this game until next year around this time, but it's coming a lot sooner then expected. I'm going to go into debt with all the games coming out this year

Yeah no kidding.....luckily for me nothing is coming out on Wii I'm interested in and I don't own a Xbox product. It is a tad bit difficult keeping up with the hand helds this year as well though.

It used to be, that people were complaining that games took too long to be released, now people are complaining that games are being released too quickly?!?!? C'mon, I love the fact that good games are coming out quickly like this, frankly, some games are becoming too short, and when your done, theres nothing else to play, but now its like when you beat a game, you'll have another awesome one to play.
