It's another Monday, and some more games are being added to the North American Wii Shop Channel today. There is a whopping four games up for grabs, highlighted by the SRPG Shining Force II for the Genesis. However, that's not the only good game heading the VC's way today. There are two WiiWare games and two Virtual Console games making their way to the service.
The first WiiWare game is Gameloft's Midnight Bowling. Up to four players can get it on the electric atmosphere of the nighttime bowling alley, with a new game engine that should control better than what was available in Wii Sports Bowling. The game also boasts a career mode for times when your friends aren't available.
The other WiiWare game is MadStone from Riverman Media. It is a falling block puzzle game, but in order to destroy blocks, you need to use the Wii Remote to smash through them to find MadStones that will accumulate at the bottom so you can unleash special attacks against your opponent. You can read WiiWare World's impressions here.
The first Virtual Console game today is Mario Golf for the N64. While not the first Nintendo mascot character to experiment with the sport of golf, Mario and co. hit the links for some zany fun, with 10 different modes of play and six different courses. Up to four players can get in on the action.
The other Virtual Console game is none other than Shining Force II for the Sega Genesis. The long-awaited sequel to Shining Force, the Devil King Zeon has resurrected with the theft of two jewels in an ancient shrine. Bowie leads the Shining Force to combat this threat. Featuring turn-based battles and classic Shining Force gameplay, this is a treat for SRPG fans.
As always, games go live at Noon EST, 9AMM PST. Keep track of the latest VC releases with the 2008 edition of What's New on VC? in the Wii Virtual Console forum.
