It's a new Monday, and three more games were added to the North American Wii Shop Channel today. We have a couple of new installments into some quality series for WiiWare, and the first game in a popular Genesis series for the Virtual Console.

The first WiiWare game is Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands from Telltale Games. Our good cool pal Strong Bad is low on funds, so he decides to enter and dominate the "Battle Royale of the Bands". Featuring the series' point-and-click gameplay and crude humor, fans should be ready to play through this third installment.

The other WiiWare title is Art Style: ROTOHEX from Nintendo. This is the latest entry in their stylistic Art Style series, which draws its roots from the bit Generations series on the GBA. In ROTOHEX, triangles fall from the top of the screen, and you must rotate them so you can match up triangles so that they form a hexagon. Go for a score attack solo, or bring along a friend to either help you or face off against him. This is based off of Dialhex in the bit Generations series.

The Virtual Console title today is the Sega Genesis version of Earthworm Jim. An ordinary earthworm is mutated into our titular hero, and it is up to him to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from the evil Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt. It's classic platformer gameplay returned on the Virtual Console.

Recap:
WiiWare:

  • Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands, Telltale Games, 1 Player, 1000 Points
  • Art Style: ROTOHEX, Nintendo, 1-2 Players, 600 Points

Woot! EWJ! Great classic game, but I should mention that he was never mutated into our hero, he just happens to find the best suit in the universe.

That would not be handled through this. Game-specific DLC is handled within the game itself. The Wii Shop Channel is used for WiiWare, Virtual Console, and other Channel Software put out by Nintendo.

And yes, the Wii version of Guitar Hero: World Tour does have DLC.

I would buy Baddest of the Bands but stupid Nintendo had to make an idiotic update which screws up homebrew. So now I'm not going to even touch the Shop Channel with a 10 foot long stick until there's a homebrew counter patch.
