In a press release today, Square Enix announced two new games that were added to their North American 1st Quarter 2009 lineup. Joining the already-announced Star Ocean: Second Evolution (January 6th) for the PSP and Star Ocean: The Last Hope (March 3rd) for the Xbox 360 are a duo of Nintendo DS games: Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume.

Dragon Quest V DS is the fifth installment of the vaunted Dragon Quest RPG series, and the second to be remade on the Nintendo DS. The game's story takes you across three generations as your main characters grow. The game is due out on February 17th.

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume is the latest installment in the Valkyrie Profile series from famed developer tri-Ace. You are a man whose father was taken away from him ten years ago by Lenneth Valkyrie, seeking revenge with the aid of Hel, the Queen of Niflheim. It is due out on March 17th.
