The rumblings from the Tokyo Game Show and Nintendo Power are true. In a press release today, Sega has officially announced that the imageepoch-developed DS RPG, World Destruction ~Michibikareshi Ishi~ will be headed to the US, under the title of Sands of Destruction. The game will hit US store shelves in the Fall of 2009.

The world is being ruled by a group of beastmen called the Ferals, reigning over the human race with tyranny and prejudice. It is up to the World Annihilation Front to overthrow the Ferals the only way they know how: to destroy the world. Kyrie Illunis is the one who holds the key to destruction of the world. The game features fighting game mechanics mixed with turn-based combat to make for a dynamic battle system to bring the intensity to every battle. The "Quip System" allows players to equip battle sayings to characters to give them various benefits in and outside of battle.
