In a press release today, Namco Bandai has announced a new action adventure title for the Wii, The Munchables, which is set to hit US stores this May.

The home planet of the Munchables is in peril, facing an invasion by the evil Don Onion and his band of space pirates. The Munchables will need to be able to do what they do best--eat--to defeat their enemies and free their planet. With each foe they defeat they will grow in size and power, which will allow them to eat even larger enemies. The game will also feature a Mirror Mode where the game's stages can be attacked in reverse and also face a time limit.

So instead of revisiting their successful Ace Combat franchise, they're going ahead with "The Munchables"? Namdai, you are idiots.

Plus, it's games like these that give the Wii such a bad rep...

The gameplay trailer looks pretty awesome. It gives me a Katamari vibe, just by having the eat things to grow bigger to eat bigger things.

    Hopefully it sells well.
Then they can progress to AAA titles, or, plz oh plz, more Ace Combat.
