Whilst Mass Effect 2 will be multiplatform, it may not be in the way certain people were hoping. The press release also sets in stone the aforementioned Q1 2009 release date and gives fans a brief glimpse into the storyline and gameplay of the next game in the series.

O - I was under the impression that most people already knew it was going to be a trilogy?

There's still a chance of this going to the PS3. Really just confirms the idea that they weren't revealing it as a 'console multiplatform' in that past announcement - not that it's not going to happen period.

btw: waaaaaaaant this. If they fix the faceless, emotionless, boring side questing, then Mass Effect 2 will be one of the best games ever.

The fact that your allowed to use your levelled and equipped characters from the previous Mass Effect game and the effects from your story are contributed into Mass Effect 2 already tells me it ain't hitting PS3 unless Mass Effect does.

Would be sweet if we saw a new version of the first ME for PS3 and then ME2 as well.

Yeah that would be good for ps3 owners but how would it work? Me2 would be built with the first one in mind, so it would be hard to incorporate a new game to work with the story line and for them to develop 2 games in a year.

Would be a nice treat for ps3 owners though.

Hmmm, so it's going to be like Mass Effect but better? Also, better weapons, combat, and highly emotional story?

Ok, I have no doubt it'll be amazing, but that's a god awful story outline.
