You know, I've never been one of Thompson's harshest critics. I've always thought of him as someone who fought for something he genuinely believed in... I just felt he was incredibly ill informed.

Regardless of what I think, even his harshest critics have to admit he's done something pretty respectable here. He's agreed to appear at ScrewAttack's Gaming Convention and will participate in a live debate with Joystiq's legal columnist, Mark Methenitis on the topic of video game restrictions.

Thompson will be making an exclusive one day only appearance on Saturday July 4th, in which he will participate in a live debate with Joystiq.com legal columnist, Mark Methenitis on the topic of video game restrictions. In addition to the debate, Thompson will also participate in a special pre-screened question and answer panel where attendees will have the opportunity to pick the brain of one of gaming’s most notorious critics.

Check the video out mate, every pit of the fighting is in-game and non-scripted. On the night, an Australian UFC champ was there and he was really worried about how the mechanics would go. Seeing that there are so many disiplines in each fight.

He was amazed and relieved all at the same time, he enjoyed himself a great deal with the game, although he did get beaten in the final against the media on the night . .

All were very close rounds and went for the full 3 rounds though, it was close . . .

You will be impressed by this, I hate fight games, but this has me hook-line-n-sinker . . .

Hmm, I don't know. Will this make even MORE gamers become obsessed Jack T. fans? Will he up his rep or down it? Either way, I think more fans are going to happen!

Appearing in video game conventions and doing game site interviews is all the guy has left in his life. Since being disbarred he had one of two options: 1) fade away 2) go after the video violence cause full force and hope he makes some kind of alternate career out of it. Looks like he picked #2
