Last week with the release of the Nintendo DSi in North America, Nintendo of America's Wii-kly Update, known as the Wii Shop Channel Update here on GameGrep, was changed to the Nintendo Download, with titles for the DSi's downloadable service DSiWare becoming available now on Mondays. Thusly, we will change over from the Wii Shop Channel Update to a new moniker, the Nintendo Download Update, bringing you the latest Virtual Console, WiiWare, and now, DSiWare updates every Monday. DSiWare abbreviations with tentatively use DSiW in the recap, but may be shortened to DSi. Although they are now sold as Nintendo Points in the stores, DSi Points and Wii Points are not interchangeable. The Virtual Console and WiiWare will continue to use Wii Points, while the DSi will use DSi Points.

There are two DSiWare titles today, the first being Mixed Messages from Activision. It's like a game of telephone, with players alternating between written text messages and drawings to see what the end result of the original message is. From as little as 2 players to as many as 21 can get in on the action.

The other DSiWare title today is Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games from Nintendo. It's a mini version of Nintendo's Master of Illusion title, which will teach you various card shuffling tricks that you can use to wow your guests.

The sole WiiWare title today is Party Fun Pirate from the TOMY Corporation. It is a game based on the ever-popular Pop-Up Pirate toy, where up to four players can take turns running swords through a barrel containing our unlucky pirate captain. As is the case with our popular toy, whoever sticks the sword in that sends our dear old captain flying goes out of the running.

The lone Virtual Console title today is Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure for the Sega Genesis. It's a sidescroller starring Pitfall Harry Jr., the son of the famous Pitfall Harry. Our hero must venture through 13 levels of Mayan jungles, waterfalls, and deserted mines to save his father from the warrior spirit Zakelua: Lord of Evil.
