Electronic Theatre reports on the success of NCsoft's Guild Wars franchise, having surpassed six million units sales ahead of it's fourth anniversary.

NCsoft and ArenaNet today announced that on the cusp of its fourth anniversary, the Guild Wars franchise has exceeded six million units sold. Guild Wars is the award-winning and genre-defining series that is one of the most popular and successful online Role-Playing Games in the industry.

    Congrats to the GW team. But please, fire the group that thought heroes was a good idea. That killed doing missions and quests for me.

    PvP was always fun, though.

        Don't get me wrong, they are useful and all...it's just, more like a single player game than MMO with the heroes.

        I haven't played many MMOs, but yeah, GW is my favorite.

    Good job ArenaNet! I'm guessing it got a boost from being available on Steam.

    Anyone who has time to kill and is a fan of online games, pick this up. MMO with no monthly charge, easy to get a handle of and hard to master; can't wait for Guild Wars 2

    Good game. Of all the MMOs I played, GW is my favorite. I still log in now and then after all these years. 11 character slots... heh heh.
