Electronic Theatre reports on the unveiling of three new Guitar Hero games (well, one we knew about already and another was rather predictable...) due for release this Autumn.

Activision is set to once again revolutionise how consumers interact with music by releasing three new titles this autumn – DJ Hero, Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero – that will redefine the company's popular music gaming platform. The slate will transform the way consumers enjoy and engage with music by offering the largest variety of music genres, innovative technologies and new social entertainment experiences for existing fans and millions of new consumers who previously have not joined Guitar Hero's global community of fans.

Is there anyone who is actually excited for any of these titles? Activision is seriously drowning us with all these titles. Before you know it, they're gonna have a dozen games in 2 years and no one will care.

The main thing that caught my attention was the announcement of Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero seperately. I hope this means that ther is a slim chance that Guitar Hero 5 will just be guitar, so they focus more on making that fun.

Oh my god, just what we needed MORE guitar hero games!!

Just because your making more of them doesn't make them any better.

Screw this I'm getting Rock Band.

I have no problem with the guitar hero genre, but Activision are having WAY too many coffees and they're all like "Quick guys, make more games, more games means they're better and make us more moneyz lololololololol lets go tease a raccoon"

Honestly, this is why I followed Harmonix. Activision's turning into Nintendo.

LMAO, this is the only way they know of how to have a chance to take down Rock Band which is hilarious. you dont see Harmonix making 20 different RB games. they only have the Beatles game in the frying pan currently, Lego Rock Band was announced but thats more of Traveler's Tale's thing.

Don't forget Rock Band: Unplugged for the PSP. But that's going to be pure awesome.

Honestly, I stopping giving a shit about Guitar Hero when they released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. I miss when Guitar Hero was actually good, and they only released one or two games a year.

Which was when HMX was at the helm of GH. No wonder why RB still has some integrity.

yeah the last time GH was good was when the Harmonix ppl worked for them still, of course. i know it will never happen, but Activision just needs to concede and give up to Harmonix. they could focus on stuff that ppl actually care about, like WOW.

They sound really desperate here with these. Which is weird because I've always found Guitar Hero a great game.

    But really, Band Hero? =\

    DJ Hero?! ._. *bleep* me.

Guitar Hero 5 was bound to happen. It definitely needs something like Sequoia Throne by Protest The Hero.

Band Hero isn't as much up my alley. It's gonna be more family friendly with Top 40 mainstream songs? Sounds like there's going to be absolutely no difficulty involved whatsoever. =\

DJ Hero is the one that I'm interested in most. It could be amazing, or it could be a total failure. We'll soon see, I guess.

GH 5 would have to have loads of impossible songs and songs that nobody can get tired of and are fun to play to keep the series the slightest bit of dignity.

    That ain't gonna happen.

Thats because all of the good stuff was in 2 and 3, which are being brought back with Smash Hits.

I wonder if anyone is really gonna even care about GH5 once it hits. Pretty much all the great songs have already been distributed or are on there way as DLC. Now if they were to somehow manage to get either Pink Floyd or Zeppelin in GH5 then that's a different story. But we all have a better chance of getting struck by lightning at the same time...
