BioShock 2 Multiplayer Developed by Digital Extremes - Includes Gameplay Details

Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation of new multiplayer gameplay details for BioShock 2, currently in development at Digital Extremes and 2K Marin.

2K Games announced today that it has signed a partnership with Digital Extremes to develop the multiplayer experience for BioShock 2. Under this partnership, Digital Extremes is working closely with the creative team at 2K Marin to develop a new and substantial element that enhances the lore and fiction of the BioShock universe.

    Sounds like 2K are intent on taking away all the original qualities from the first game.

    Not saying this is going to be bad, actually it sounds quite good. Just seems kind of a spit in the face to Bioshock's uniqueness.

      If I may ask, what qualities are they taking away from the first game? This article focuses purely on the multiplayer, which is an addition to the series. This article has nothing to do with the single player campaign, which still looks promising.

      I'm glad that we play in Rapture before it's downfall. It will add interesting elements to the game, and it will make for better multiplayer maps. Having a different company focus on the multiplayer is a great move as well, as it shows that they still care about the single player. It also shows they're not just throwing on some multiplayer, but they're going to make it worthwhile.

      I can't wait for this game.
