Today marks the release of the 300th Virtual Console title for the North American Virtual Console, and that distinction goes to none other than the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is accompanied by one DSiWare and two WiiWare titles this week.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the only VC title this week, but people won't be complaining. This direct sequel to the eternal favorite Ocarina of Time has Link traveling to the world of Termina in chase of the Majora's Mask-wearing Skull Kid who have stolen Link's horse Epona and the Ocarina of Time. Upon arriving in Termina, it becomes apparent that due to the Majora's Mask's influence, the moon is set to fall and destroy Termina in three days. It is up to Link to retrieve his belongings and save Termina from impending doom.

The lone DSiWare title today is Art Style: PiCTOBiTS from Nintendo. Another in the easy-to-pick-up-and-play Art Style series, PiCTOBiTS has the player clearing large falling blocks by matching them with the same-colored squares on the touch screen. The difficulty will intensify though, on this basic premise.

The first WiiWare title today is Crystal Defenders R2 from Square Enix. It is the second title for the Wii in this Tower Defense series, where players need to make use of the job classes from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance A2 to defend their crystals from hordes of oncoming monsters. New jobs are introduced in R2, including the Flintlock and the Tinker which let the player devise more complex strategies for dealing with the oncoming horde.

The other WiiWare title is Silver Star Chess from Agetec. It is a simple chess game that players can play against the computer AI or head-to-head with a friend.
