Electronic Theatre reports on an interesting promotional event, in which passers-by where invited to "smash and grab" THQ's Red Faction: Guerrilla. Literally.

In yet another inventive marketing stunt by UK videogames PR teams, a car filled with over one hundred copies of a brand new videogame was left in busy central London areas yesterday. Passers-by were encouraged to 'smash and grab', in order to celebrate the launch of Red Faction: Guerrilla on the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, and get their hands on one of the first copies of the game for free.

Someone should cut themselves with the glass and sue them. Seriously who came up with such a rediculous idea?

Surely if it was Smash & Grab then at least a few people would have stolen more than one copy?

Yeh they had a similar event going on two streets over from me, except instead of copies of red faction there was loose change and house keys, and instead of being encouraged I was chased away by an angry old lady with a rolling pin. (it was all part of the promotion)
