EA announced today that BioWare and Dark Horse Comics will be putting out a Mass Effect comic series. The first issue, titled "Redemption," will be out on January 6, 2010, and covers some events prior to Mass Effect 2.

The story seems to focus on Commander Shepard, who is stranded in the treacherous Terminus Systems with Dr. Liara T'soni. You remember her -- the blue chick you had (possibly lesbian) sex with before saving the galaxy.

That's right, gamers, we've got a Mass Effect comic series in the works. BioWare, a studio of EA, has announced the new series, in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics.

The story starts with Mass Effect: Redemption, which will focus on the events leading up to Mass Effect 2, when Commander Shepard has gone missing. The story is written by BioWare lead writer Mac Walters, who also worked on the Mass Effect 2 script. John Miller (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, The Invincible Iron Man) is doing script work, and Omar Francia (Star Wars Legacy) will be handling art.

Will possibly look out for these proving I'm not absorbed in Mass Effect 2.

I could still do with checking out the novels too.

I've never really been a fan of literature and stuff based off games. I've never encountered any that truly captures what I feel is the essence of the game. Not to say that there may not be cracking good stuff out there that I haven't read yet or for games I don't play.

I'll probably check this out anyway just because Mass Effect is so good. Plus I don't want to miss anything story wise.
