Electronic Theatre reports on the announcement that Fable II is set to launch on the Xbox 360's Games on Demand service in five episodes - the first of which will be free.

Following the official unveiling of Fable III, Microsoft has announced that Fable II will be offered as episodic releases on Xbox LIVE. While Fable II has become the best-selling Role-Playing Game yet released on Xbox 360, there are apparently some who still have not experienced the magic and adventures that await them in Albion. The launch of Fable II: Game Episodes will debut September 29, 2009, with the release of the first episode for free download exclusively on Xbox LIVE.

just read the press release on major nelsons twitter; there are going to be 5 episodes! this may be the next way to get people to buy games on demand. they think tricking us stupid games by breaking up the price by 5 will get us to download them at the crazy high price. just stupid. but since its free for the first episode ill get it but i will not buy the rest of it on demand if i like it.
