In a press release today, Square Enix announced the North American release date for their upcoming Wii action-adventure title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. The game will hit store shelves on December 26th.

Breaking away from the multiplayer RPG aspects of the previous Crystal Chronicles games, The Crystal Bearers is primarily a single-player experience, although a second person can jump in and aid Layle, the game's main character and a crystal bearer, an individual with the ability to manipulate crystals.

Exploration and interaction is a big part of The Crystal Bearers, as Layle with his crystal abilities is able to manipulate his surrounding environment. He can be Spider-man and grab ledges, shake money out of unsuspecting individuals, and battle by picking up and throwing objects.
