Electronic Theatre reports on the announcement that Activision's Guitar Hero 5 has topped the weekly sales charts in the UK for the week ending September 12th.

Activision Publishing, Inc. today announced that the latest installment of the #1 music-based videogame franchise, Guitar Hero 5 has topped the weekly sales charts in the UK. For the week ending September 12th, Guitar Hero 5 debuted in the #1 position in units across all platforms, despite being available at retail for only two days during the reporting period, according to Charttrack.

    I'm ashamed.. How does this game keep doing that? It hasn't fundamentally changed from the beginning and yet people lap it up..

      Because Guitar Hero has become so big (Like it or not) it's become a part of culture. Some see the games as a way to broaden their music intrests (Me) some people see it as a way for popularity (Youtube users) and others see it to make money (Guest celebrities and bands appearing).

      Sure it hasn't changed, but it's evolved and with more and more songs, think of it as the sims. More expansions

      Primarily because Rock Band isn't very well promoted in Europe. So people's only option is to buy every lame-ass GH game that comes out.
