A new game in the Dragon Quest series, subtitled "Wars", is coming to DSiWare next month for 500 DSi Points ($5).

This one's a turn-based strategy (TBS) game that offers up a quicker brand of fun in the form of challenge rounds. You pick four monster playing pieces (Healslime, Golem, etc.) for your team, then have at it against the enemy in the arena, in which you attempt to make it to the other side.

Wireless mode will be a major draw to DQ: Wars' gameplay, in which you can fight against up to three other teams in the same arena, or one-on-one with any oppponent worldwide. A ratings point system will ensure you're never outmatched.

No specific date is set beyond October, but keep a lookout.
