Electronic Theatre reports on the announcement that Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has achieved Gold status ahead of it's release this October.

Set to deliver an intense, immersive and visceral military sandbox gaming experience, Codemasters today announced that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has gone gold and will be available from October 9th 2009, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

      Going gold merely means it is completed. It's developer speak essentially, like when they talk about a game being in the Alpha phase means it's not polished and development on the game is still in early stages. It's all code to save them explaining each and every time they show something or make an announcement.
