Electronic Theatre reports on claims made, and said to be answered at this year's London Games Conference, regarding the state of the industry and the future move into digital retail.

Digital distribution is poised to outstrip traditional retail sales within three years and forty percent of companies within the games sector are unprepared for the rate at which this shift will take place. These are just two of the claims that will be made by speakers at the London Games Conference, which takes place at BAFTA on Tuesday 27th October 2009.

nooo I like a shelf full of game boxes...if I buy a game through digital distribution I don't feel I own it in the same way I do as a disk

yea. you don't have a hard copy and could lose your ownership rights. on top of that you cannot sell your copy to a local video game store for trades. my money is on the sucess of the psp go and from the looks of it we might not need to worry too much
