Electronic Theatre reports on the announcement that the forthcoming The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will feature Zelda as an accompaniment to our hero Link on his latest quest.

It was among the most outrageous incidents in videogame history: in 1986, Princess Zelda was kidnapped from the land of Hyrule, setting off an intrepid rescue adventure for young hero Link. Unfortunately for Zelda, this offence has been repeated more than a dozen times since, leaving her largely out of sight while Link traversed dark dungeons and confronted monstrous enemies alone in order to save her. This time, in the new Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi adventure The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, that all changes.

I can't stress enough how lame this game looks. I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass, but now that Nintendo has run out of ideas, they put trains on this mofo. Seriously, trains? Quit making these shit Zelda titles and make me a goddamn Zelda Wii title instead, were you're not so damn limited.

They are on the verge of a Zelda Wii game, already talking about how the motion controls will come into play.

I'm going to reserve judgement until I actually play through Spirit Tracks, but yes the idea of shoving trains in there seems outright silly.

Hopefully she won't find herself kidnapped near the end of the game, like pretty much any LoZ game that trys to portray her as a strong willed and talented individual.

Never said I didn't like the games. It just seems pointless trying to portray Zelda as a strong willed and talented individual only to turn around and put her straight back into the damsel in distress role.

It would be more accurate to say I don't like that certain story element.

Ugh, this game still gives me diarrhoea just thinking about a zelda game based around trains...

I've read a review of it, it's not based around trains. It's about Zelda and Link vs everything else. That's like saying Halo is based around angel rings.
