The use of Twitter, Facebook as well as popular social radio Last.fm on Xbox Live, will be restricted to subscribers aged 18 and over. Xbox Live members between the ages of 13 and 17 will be able to use these services with parents' approval.

Xbox Live will restrict the use of Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm to Gold subscribers aged 18 and over.

Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb explained that the beta age-requirement would carry over into the full product until the Xbox Live team can code some proper parental controls into the new features.

This is relatively annoying...I'm 18 now and keep getting an error when I try and upgrade my account to and adult one...would sure be helpful if I could get that changed before twitter and facebook arrive
