Well it seems as though Blizzard has made it clear that they will not be releasing Diablo III in 2010 as they already have another World of Warcraft expansion and Starcraft 2 coming out in the same year. It would have been a miracle for all 3 to come out in the same year, but Blizzard is business wise and decided to push Diablo III back.

Blizzard has two big releases slated for 2010, in the form of StarCraft II and the WoW expansion Cataclysm. Being a developer known to patiently hone and sharpen its titles long past projected release dates, having these two game come out in the same year is akin to the stars aligning. Keeping in mind this miracle, Blizzard executive Rob Pardo’s confirmation that Diablo 3 won’t being arriving in 2010 should come as no surprise.

    E.T.A = 2015+

    If SCII is anything to go by that is.

    I have a bet going on which one will come out first, Duke Nukem, Half Life 2: Episode 3 or Diablo 3.

    Always bet on the Duke.

      Wasn't Duke dropped by the developer?

        Duke Nukem Forever has only halted now because 3D Realms were downsized. Although the whole issue is tricky. Duke Nukem Forever is still in development there are still official fanpages and twitter updates ocurring internally from 3D Realms. Though with only 35 members on the team now the already slow process has just gotten slower.

    Goddamn, why even bother announcing it if it won't even come out for another 12+ months. -_- They even threw in some details, like that monk class.

      Because having an announcement and confirming the game's existence is better than getting nothing for 8 years. We Starcraft fans were completely in the dark until news was being leaked about SC2, shortly before the announcement. I'd rather at least have the knowledge that progress is being made.

      Blizzard hosts the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational every year since 2005, and their game announcements are always awesome.

        Good point, but it will be difficult to keep the hype up for the game during this long period of time. At least it will have a long development period, so it should be a well-rounded, polished game.

          It won't be a challenge at all for Blizzard to keep up the hype. Their 3 main franchises have millions of fans each, both current and former. All they really need to do is release small bits of info every now and then.

          Like they did for Final Fantasy XIII? xD

          I don't follow the FF series at all. But releasing small bits of info is a common way to keep public interest on a game.

    Blizzard really pissed me off with this announcement, I'd rather they released Diablo 3 next year than another shitty World of Shit expansion, sick of that game getting so much damn attention and the rest of Blizzards games being shunned. If it weren't for that game we'd have Diablo 3 already.

      It is fact that Blizzard fans only want StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3. Though I wouldn't mind a remake of Blackthorne. That was probably by far one of Blizzards most bloody and violent games, not counting the violence in StarCraft 2.

        I've been waiting for a remake of Lost Vikings. What an awesome SNES game that was.
