A report on the announcement that Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been revealed as the best selling videogame in the UK for the calendar year 2009, and the multi-format and individual format sales charts.

Last year, 2009, turned into a sensational twelve months for Activision as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ended the year as the best-selling videogame topping the coveted 2009 All Formats Chart, according to data released today by ELSPA/GfK Chart-Track. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has continued to set new records since its release in November last year, grossing more than £67 million in its first week of sales.
