A report on the announcement that a videogame based on ITV's Dancing on Ice is currently in development for Wii and Nintendo DS, and is set for release this Spring.

The videogame hopes to capture the excitement, drama and challenge of the show with a highly interactive and intuitive control system. By creating your own character, selecting which real-life professional skater will be your partner, undertaking the strict training regimes and learning the increasingly testing “required elements” the player really feels like they are immersed in the show for real. As part of this realism the player will also come under the scrutiny of both the “ice panel” of judges and the viewers vote to determine who will be required to “skate-off” to stay in the competition.
