"Pokemon Black" and "Pokemon White" announced for Nintendo DS

As known already, the fifth generation of Pokemon is coming to Nintendo DS. The series has been going since 1996, starting with Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green. The latest full edition is Diamond & Pearl.

Well, we've got Version names! Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will debut in Japan this Fall. Expect more news the 15th.

    Yeah I just heard the news, coming Fall for Japan. This'll be on the DS I assume, not the 3DS? I hope so, don't plan on getting that new system until the second gen. of it comes out.

    So they went with...the staple colors, eh? Definitely getting White, bro's getting Black.

    DS? Current DS? That's kinda disappointing. I'd want to see the series expand and I'm concerned Game Freak won't care to try it on current hardware.

      The original Japanese releases were Red and Green, after which a third game was released called Blue, containing glitch fixes, different pokemon distribution and better graphics. What the rest of the world got in the form of red and blue was basically Japan's third game with different pokemon distribution programmed in. This is why the 3rd gen remakes included LeafGreen and not WaterBlue.

      And thus concludes our Pokemon history lesson for today.

    On a serious note, why the hell don't they just release this on 3DS, and actually have 3D sprites this time (like they should have done for the last 500 billion pokemon games).

    While the White version will be more successful, the Black version will remain bigger one



    I'll be getting the Black version. Although I really don't like these newer Pokémon, they look like robots or some shit now :[

    If it's not 1 through 251 then it's not a good Pokémon

    Hopefully I should be getting both versions so I can obtain all Pokémon. I should be getting White first then Black because I like to be different
