When someone of this amount of power in EA makes a bold statement like 'We're boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play', we know there is bound to be a change in the future of the gaming industry.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Most video games are "boring" or too complicated, and game makers need to do more to appeal to casual players, according to the head of the world's largest video game publisher, Electronic Arts.
"We're boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play," EA Chief Executive John Riccitiello told the Wall Street Journal in a story posted on its Web site on Sunday.

I'd have to agree. Original games are hard to come by now, while sequels are on an uprise, and a good amount aren't doing well. There's three times more sequels than original titles I believe. Then again, original games need to not only bring something new to the table, but be appealing to the consumers...if that goes well, then there'll be a sequel.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma... best game of the last decade and that is also the hardest game since Pitfall on the old Atari 2600, making games too easy is what is making stuff boring, a learning curve keeps things interesting... My god if his finding are just from kids with now *bleep*ing attention span i will die.

So I am assuming he is referring to EA as well. Since there are the ones that are probably junking the market up the most. I do agree with him though, there aren't any original games anymore. I want a good story Dammit !
