Bethesda Softworks announced today that it will release The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (GotY) on the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, and Windows (PC) this September. This edition of the game will include the origional award-winning game, along with both the Elder Scrolls® IV: Shivering Isles™, and Knights of the Nine™ expansions of the game.

Allowing gamers to play the 2006 Game of the Year with additional content will most likely interest many that were thinking of buying the game. Along with that, people that have already got the game will be able to continue their existing games and experience the new quests and areas offered by the expansion and downloadable content.

With more than 30 hours of new gameplay, Shivering Isles allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion – the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles features a bizarre landscape split between the two sides – Mania and Dementia –filled with vast, twisting dungeons mirroring the roots of the trees they are buried within. Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction as you discover all new items, ingredients, spells, and much more.

Knights of the Nine features an all-new faction and quests for noble characters and answers many of the questions surrounding the Ayleid ruins found throughout Oblivion. Players can join a new faction and found their own order of holy knights – leading them into battle against a sorcerer-king and his demonic minions while exploring massive dungeons and searching for legendary relics – the holy armor and weapons of the Divine Crusader.

Awesome, I have played this game many times using a friends game. I had been too lazy to get it. Looks as if my procrastination payed off. I will be sure to pick this version up.

I'm actually considering getting this game now. It looked amazing before hand as it is, but now it looks beyond amazing, definitely seems worth it, especially as it also has the expansion packs.

Do it. It's a good game at the very least, and with the expansions you might as well. I think the PS3 version already has Knights of the 9 added in, but the Shivering Isle content has got to be more then worth it. Even the standard game in it's own right is good. If nothing, it's good to hold you over until the next big release hits (GTA4, MGS, Assassin's Creed, whatever game you're waiting for next).

I pay over $100 for the game itself and the expansions but everyone gets it in a nice, small, and cheap package. /whine

QFT. Any idea as to how much this is gonna cost? Are they gonna charge 30 bucks for the Shivering Isles like I paid when it released? Probably not.

      /end rant

Sucks to be you, MrSponge I waited to get this game, and I'm glad that I did. With the praise it was getting I had a feeling it would get an updated edition...plus with the expansion and other features, it's well worth the wait =D

    *sighs*

Well, I did get the game ages ago on the 360...who knows, if it gets cheap enough (like $30 or $40 used), I might get it for the PS3 too, since it would give me $35 worth of Shivering Isles content anyway

But of course, I'd have to play with the dupe glitch patched -_- I don't like that...
