Square Enix's Project X is Dungeon Siege 3

Those looking for Square Enix's sort-of-hyped Project X to be a JRPG, well, sorry. The publisher's French arm has just announced Dungeon Siege 3 for PS3, 360 and PC.

Development will be handled by Obsidian Entertainment under the supervision of Gas Powered Games. There will be 4-player co-op, multiple job classes, ally recruitment and environmental changes based on player decisions.

    On shock value, yes that was a nice surprise but on quality value...nah.

    It doesn't say in the release that this was actually Project X, unless if my skim-reading missed something.

      Unless they have another RPG they hyped an annoucement of an annoucement for set for later this week, this is it.

        This is Squenix, they've probably got another ten. Though I'm pretty certain they said Project X would be revealed at E3, so I'm still going with this isn't it.

          I just can't see Square hyping a game like that when they aren't even making it, just producing it. I'm not saying this isn't it but I would be suprised if it was. I thought they were supposed to be reveling Project X at E3 too. It just seems a bit farfetched, I'll wait for some kind of official statement from square or wait until after E3 to consider this as Project X.

    The only thing on that page saying that it is Project X is the person who posted it 'Sacha'. Square Enix aren't even making Dungeon Siege 3 just producing it so tbh this probably isn't Project X. 4 Player Dungeon Siege on console sounds pretty cool though so I'd be happy either way.

    Square may be full of bull for the most part, but there's no way they would hype something like this the way the have for this Special Super Magical Anti-Calcetines Explosion Mega Great Job Game. I seriously doubt that this is their big thing.

    Not what I was expecting, to be honest, I've never even heard of Dungeon Siege to begin with.

    Eh? Obsidian? The guys who *bleep*ed up Knights of the Old Republic 2? That makes me feel SO much better. :/

      To be fair Obsidian weren't entirely at fault, they were pushed into a Decemeber release date and even tried to launch a patch with the cut content later on. Blame LucasArts, or whoever was in charge, not them.

    I'm suprised with how many people havn't even heard of dungeon siege, there's even a terrible movie about it. I guess it's just before most gamers time mabye?

      The original came out in '02...so yeah it's pretty old for me. Now, I gotta go get that anti-cootie spray my cousin Billy sold me for twenty bucks.
