During the E3 Sony Press Conference, Kaz Hirai unveiled an enhanced design for the Playstation Portable (PSP-2000). Launching this September, the enhanced design will contain a new video-out port, as well as a downgrade in weight. That's right, the PSP will now be getting lighter, that's 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer than the original version, making it even easier to carry around at approx.189g in weight (weight of current model is approx.280g) and approx.18.6mm in thickness (thickness of current model is approx.23.0 mm)

The New Model will also have better connectivity with the PS3, allowing it to be charged simply by connecting to a PS3 or even a PC. With the Video-Out it will also mean that you can watch your favourite UMD's on the big screens.

The three colours that will be available at launch for the new-style PSP will be “Piano Black”, “Ceramic White”, and “Ice Silver”.

But that's not all. The good news continues, as information regarding the packages for the newly designed PSP have also emerged. The “Ice Silver” package will be included with a limited-edition Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack. The Collectors-Edition “Ceramic White,” PSP will including a Darth Vader silk-screen on the unit, as well as the PSP exclusive title, Star Wars Battlefront®: Renegade Squadron™. Whilst the Ice White pack is released in September, if you want the Ceramic White Pack, you will have to wait till October to get your hands on it, and the game.

It's a GameGrep special. I think that it's a PSP with more features and star wars for 30 dollars more. I would get it for those extras.

A smaller and lighter PSP, to be honest it is a okay idea but I dont mind the size of mine at the moment. Tight on the pocket but still makes it.

Would be nice to see a more realistic picture if anyone has one.
