Up for some thrills and chills? Konami has announced a new title in its Silent Hill series for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 to be released sometime in 2011.

Scheduled for release in 2011, Silent Hill remains true to the franchise’s original roots, and again takes the form of a third-person horror experience. With an all-new thought-provoking storyline, players will once again find themselves face to face with their deepest sins and fears in the strange world of Silent Hill.

If you want Silent Hill to be more like 1-3, then demand this man to be the art director again.

      http://www.geocities.jp/nobu_hill/

Masahiro Ito was the art director of Silent Hill 1-3 (and helped with a few creature designs in 4) and the true mastermind behind Silent Hill's atmosphere, background designs of the nightmare worlds, and creature designs. He is also the father of Pyramid Head and Valtiel.

I read on his twitter (gotta use google translator) the he wouldn't mind dong creature designs and background designs for silent hill again, but no one has ever asked him to since Team Silent broke up.

Also I read that Akira Yamaoka isn't doing the music this time, which is REALLY going to make this go down hill (no pun intended). He did music for Silent Hill all the way up to Shattered Memories and helped with making the sound effects.

That and the original crew (Team Silent) hasn't been involved with their own series since SH4. Seeing as some of them were involved with Siren: Blood Curse, last game they ever did. It's a mystery why they haven't been involved with SH for years still.

Oh plz god let this be good, Silent Hill is one of my favourite franchises and lately its been a steaming pile of turd (except Shattered Memories, which was a step in the right direction 'mostly', still wasn't scary enough).
