Gran Turismo 5: Prologue The Second Dual Release Game (Download & BD)

Krunal | August 28, 2007 | Press Release | Playstation 3
A Recent Press Release hit my inbox with details about Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and here's a quick compilation of the facts along with 6 screenshots (of the seven that they provided me... the seventh wasn't that great, but can be found on the Neoseeker Profile's Screens Section):

  • A taste of GT5 will be available on the PS3 by the end of the Year
  • Upto 16 Players will be able to play together Online- a first for Gran Turismo
  • Over 40 dream cars, High Definition graphics, new physics engine… and a TV channel
  • The game will be released both on the Blu-ray disc AND as a download from the Playstation Network

Could this mean that the previously thought FREE game will have to be bought? Or will only the Blu-Ray version actually cost money?

In any case, more features for the game can be found at the Source.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue features over 40 stunning cars – including vehicles by Lotus, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Ferrari for you to race on seriously realistic, real-life tracks: including the Eiger Nordwand, the London City Track and Suzuka – all rendered in incredible High Definition graphics. There’s also all-new driving physics for the most lifelike driving experience ever and new, improved opponent artificial intelligence for the toughest race challenge yet.

Or it could just be like some demo discs that are in gamestores i mean i am sure i have seen a few free Xbox 360 demo's on the counter at GAME especially for a big game, the Blu-Ray version could be nothing more than a disc in a paper slip case that you can just pick up from a gamestore.

Taking into consideration that it is a Blu-Ray disc, they aren't going to lose money just over the discs. I think if they weren't going to sell it, then there'd be no point in making the BD version, since people could simply download it as soon as it came out.

They don't get handed out... It not like "here have a game and have a safe journey home sir " they are just on the counter, i know i have see demo discs laying on the counter a few times in a neat pile.
