The movies are great (the first especially) and I hope this game can turn out to be just as awesome.
What will make this game awesome is if they balance out the gunplay, hand to hand, and escaping moments well. All too often games like these will come out and you just end up shooting for hours on end and then you get to play an awesome hand to hand or escape scene that lasts all of 10 minutes. I'm so tired of games that have awesome mechanics that aren't put to good use because the developers decide to just have you shoot from behind cover for hours. SCREW THAT.
What is most fun about Bourne isn't even the gunplay, it's the excitement of the chase. If this game could pull off the adrenaline rush that is being chased then it would be freaking amazing. It needs to be frantic and fast paced but still graceful. Assassin's Creed is way too slow and too clunky. Every motion is AC is stop and start stop and start. In order to have a fun chase scene your character needs to be graceful but move at a speed seemingly too fast for human reaction. No slowing down nonsense. I want it fast and overwhelming.
They need to put Bourne at a disadvantage and have it be more about escaping with your life rather than shooting every baddy in the area and moving on.
Damn't... I don't want them to screw this up, it has such high potential...
I'll have to read the books eventually, I do like reading but I'm currently busy reading some Bret Easton Ellis.
And having Damon NOT as Bourne was a very good idea. How many movie-based games have there been where the star of the movie plays the hero in the game, and has been good? The only one I can think of is Riddick out of like, 30+.
Can't wait to play it though. Looks intense.
Why is this news? Wasn't this announced ages ago?
