S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, the prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, has a set release date of August 29th. For those of you who never got the chance to play the original, the games are first-person shooters set in the quarantined area around Chernobyl. This area is a radioactive wasteland full of creature, from mutant dogs to humans like yourself. The game was exceptionally creepy and the prequel looks to bring more of the same to the table.

Awesome. The first was amazing after you installed the patches.

One of the most fun and atmospheric FPS experiences I have ever had. Put a lot of the really big titles to shame.

I played the first without any patches and I found it pretty good. I'll have to try it with the patches too.

Looking at the screenshots for Clear Sky they sure are pretty. I hope the feel between Clear Sky and Fallout 3 aren't too similar.

Was the original actually any good? I have heard mixed reports. If someone on here convinces me I might get them both together when this comes out...

Although Ill probably just end up waiting for Fallout 3.

There's a lot of walking to be done. That and the fact that pretty much every single box, container, dead body(some exceptions with this one) you find will have no loot to be found. Those were my only two beefs with the game.
