Dissidia: Final Fantasy dated for Japan, screens, trailer

According to the trailer below, gamers will receive the Final Fantasy action/fighting game (which has some light role-playing elements) sometime this year. The title is sort of a spiritual sequel to the PS1's Ergheiz, so presumably we'll see it in North America, I'm guessing early 2009.

    This looks really promising.

    I have a sudden appreciation of the FF baddies after seeing this. They all look fantastic. Ultimecia's time control magic looks especially great.

    Not really impressed to be honest, it doesn't even look like a fighting game. All I know is, im not going to have high hopes when I play this.

    Sweet! As I said on Neo, I hope it does well on the PSP so that SquareEnix can create a PS3 sequel. ^^

        Why do we not have Seymour, then? Sin only attacked like twice during the Game, but Seymour harrased the party numerous times. Hell, he even kidnapped Yuna. Baddie, much?

          Yeah but Seymour wasn't the guy you fought most of the time, he always transformed into some big scary fiend. Besides Jecht opens up for more dialogue and story
