Animal Crossing: City Folk preview -- Is it worth it?

Tyranitar24 | July 23, 2008 | Previews | Wii
Almost everyone loves Animal Crossing, but is this Wii-exclusive game even worth the buy? Crispy Gamer takes a look at the game and explains why it might not be a game that's worth a purchase.
Ahhhh, yes. Nintendo has finally taken the wraps off their latest Animal Crossing effort -- but does the "Big N" add enough to this installment to make it a worthy purchase?

I don't care. I'm buying it. Everything they listed will be a blast. I never played Wild World, so it's a new experience for me, still.

I got bored with Wild World after a month or two, I wouldn't bother with this one.

The reason I got bored with wild world is because my friends weren't into animal crossing after the game cube one, but for kids just getting into it, it's gonna be a blast I'm still getting city folk though.

How do you preview a game designed to change on a daily basis off a ten minute demo? Animal Crossing's gameplay and graphics have never been particularly revolutionary, the hook is the addictive nature of living your virtual life. There is no way you can get any sense of this feeling with a demo.

The Animal AI was probably the same. One Minute they love you, next minute, they move out.

Man I loved the other Animal Crossings. I hope this one will be good as the others.

This article fails. The fact that the game has "Animal Crossing" written on it should be enough reason to buy the game.

If you owned the Gamecube version, than Wild World was deffinaly not worth buying, not even for Wi-Fi.

Although this one is moving the series forward, so it must be worth it.

Hell yes, Wild World is worth buying. First of all, they got rid of acres, which people despised. Second of all, it's portable. Third of all, multiplayer any place in the world... Wild World just wins. Period.

This preview isn't even valid. The previewer is basing his opinion off of a short demo of an incomplete project.

Ill buy it no matter what. Animal Crossing is awesome. If it still has all of the great features Wild World does and then some, how could you not like it?

Graphics? Oh please. The three most important parts of a game are playability, style, and sound. Yes, sound is more important than graphics.

No its not, Its on the same level of importance than graphics, but not more important.

I would rather have a game that I can see with no sound, then a game with sound but a blank screen.

In my mind, sound is much more important than graphics.
Its what really makes the "gaming world" more alive.

A good example of this is Majoras Mask and the Sonic Geneses titles.

Just think about it for a minuet.

Sound isn't really a factor, although when you get it just right, people orgasm. But graphics are pretty damn important.

Well in my opinion, what made animal crossing wild world boring for me is when i got the cheats for it. Not the normal tip/cheat, the Action Replay cheats! if u have nothing to look forward too then theres no point in playing. But beside that comment, I think this game is gonna be so awesome because the animal crossing games just get better!

If the cheats ruined it why use them?
