Trailer and demo impressions are coming in thick and fast now from the Square Enix Party; here's IGNs take on what the PSP had to show.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Hands-on.
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Hands-on.
quote Dissidia Final FantasyWhile the story behind the title is still being closely held under wraps, the concept behind the game is rather easy to understand: the forces of Chaos and Cosmos (respectively, forces of evil and good) go up against each other, presumably in a final showdown. However, while the trailer didn't give away much of the story, we were shown a large number of villains and heroes that will take part in the game, including characters like Sephiroth, Kefka, Palamecia and Garland on the bad side, and Zidane, Squall, the Warrior of Light and Tidus on the good.
quote Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. We selected the Terra level, which appeared to be set within the Sleeping Beauty world. Terra looked to be an extremely capable warrior, with an intimidating Keyblade. However, he had many more abilities than simply hacking and slashing his way through Heartless. For one thing, every attack that he landed built up a power meter, which augmented his strikes. Once it was fully powered up, he had the ability to convert this power into stronger attacks or trigger one of four attack modes. The first three appeared to have elemental attacks associated with them: Fireblazer set the Keyblade ablaze, while Rock Breaker allowed Terra to channel earth strikes and Thunderbolt gave him the ability to call down lightning. The fourth mode was called Fatal Mode, and let him pull more powerful attacks on his opponents.
